Frequently asked

Application guidelines, drying time and care instructions for Terrace Seal & Chill.

What is Snowcare Terrace Seal & Chill and what technology does it use?

Snowcare Terrace Seal & Chill is a liquid-applied, fiber-reinforced elastomeric waterproofing membrane formulated using a PU-acrylic hybrid polymer system and advanced nano-fiber technology. It provides up to 2 mm crack-bridging ability, anti-carbonation protection, solar heat reduction, and a 10-year waterproofing warranty.

What is the application procedure and dilution ratio for horizontal terrace surfaces?

A 3-coat system is applied: • 1st Coat (Self-Priming): Dilute 1000 ml of paint with 500 ml of clean water (50% dilution) and allow 4 hours drying time. • 2nd Coat: Apply undiluted and allow 4–6 hours drying time. • 3rd Coat: Apply undiluted and allow 4–6 hours drying time.

What is the application process for vertical exterior walls?

Apply: • 1st Coat (Self-Priming): Dilute 1000 ml of paint with 500 ml of clean water (50% dilution) and allow 4 hours drying time. • 2nd Coat: Apply undiluted and allow 4–6 hours drying time. • Topcoat (Optional): Apply 2 coats of compatible topcoat emulsions (such as Uni-Glosss, Pentasia, or Snowcryl) allowing 4–6 hours between coats.

What is the coverage capacity of Snowcare Terrace Seal & Chill?

• Horizontal Surfaces (Terraces - 3 coat system): 10 to 12 sq. ft. per liter. • Vertical Surfaces (2 coat system): 17 to 20 sq. ft. per liter.

What are the drying times for Snowcare Terrace Seal & Chill?

Surface dry time is 30 minutes, touch dry time is 4 to 6 hours, and the recommended recoating interval between coats is 4 to 6 hours.

What surface preparation is required before application?

New masonry surfaces must cure completely for at least 28 days. Ensure the surface is clean and free of loose paint, dust, oil, or fungal growth (clean with wire brushing and water). Fill cracks up to 2mm using Snowcare Wall Putty or a 1:3 mix of White Cement and fine sand.

Are there important precautions to follow during application?

Rectify rising dampness and structural defects prior to coating. Protect the applied membrane from direct sunlight, rain, or maltreatment during the green/drying stage. End-to-end continuous application rather than partial/patch application is recommended.

What pack sizes are available?

Container sizes available are 1 L, 4 L, 10 L, and 20 L.

Is Snowcare Terrace Seal & Chill eco-friendly and low in VOCs?

Yes, it qualifies for GRIHA and LEED Green Building criteria. It contains low VOC levels (< 40 g/L / 13%) and is free from toxic heavy metals (lead, mercury, chromium VI, cadmium) and hazardous chemicals (formaldehyde, benzene, phenolic compounds).
